I'm confused, but that may be due to oxygen deprivation. I know & use cygwim on my PC's but fail to undertand what it have to do with getting Oracle installed.

I have only Exceed (Hummingbird) installed on my PCs and have successully loaded V7, V8i & V9i multiple times using it.

If you follow the instructions, it works. If you don't, the installation fails,
but you are no worse off than you are now. Right?
