Renato, datafiles are meant to be attached to and part of tablespaces, and tablespaces of course relate to the Oracle data dictionary in terms of defining what those bits of data mean; working together, the Oracle data dictionary, often stored in the SYSTEM tablespace, defines parametry like table names, columns, their characteristics and relationships with other objects, and so forth.

There is no legitimate or proper way to directly examine a datafile that has been part of an Oracle database and make any sense out of it. If there is any improper way to do so, there shouldn't be.
