Oracle on linux run stable now,
instead of buying terribly slow sun ultra, buy Intel P4 with with raid card  From my experience my 1 CPU -P4 1500MHz runs a bit faster than sun E250 2CPU 450MHZ u may want to look on http://www.linuxjournal.com/article.php?sid=5840
