I'd say Solaris, too, or one of the other major vendor UNIXes (HP-UX, etc).

I would not say NT at all.

It does come down to what you are used to, but if it is a choice between performance and reliability, versus picking an O/S you're comfortable with, I'd go learn the O/S.
