0 Oracle 8.1.5 is desupported more than a year and not certified for
win2k
1 if you have Oracle installed properly you wouldn't need a password
for internal. You should make sure you install Oracle as *local*
administrator (as opposed to *domain* administrator), and create a
*local* ora_dba group, though Oracle supposedly should do that
automatically for you
2 During install the initial, default password *oracle* stays a few
minutes on your screen, and this password is documented
3 There also is the documend orapwd utility to change the internal
password
4 internal has been deprecated and you should use connect / as sysdba
instead
5 failure for internal and/or connect / as sysdba might also be caused
by not having
sqlnet.authentication_services=(nts)
in sqlnet.ora on the server
6 All this facts are documented. This particular question has been
answered over and over again, so the answer should be available in
numerous faq resources and this newsgroup archives at
http://groups.google.com
7 Given the fact the question is always asked again by people who
never do anything to resolve their own problems, especially reading
the documentation, as opposed to just hacking away to resolve it,
given the fact the support status of 8.1.5 and it's non-certification
for win2k also has been posted numerous times here, keeping this group
alive seems to become a pretty useless business.
With the exception of possibly Thomas Kyte and/or Howard Rogers no one
is paid to answer your question, so answering it over and over again
is just a waste of precious time.
