Oracle ODBC app hangs when in a thread

Hi all,
I am working on an application wich works with ODBC SQLServer2000 and Oracle8i
It is in VC++/Windows2000
I get this strange behavior : when trying to get connected to the db with SQL Server Prompt dialog box it works well, but when i try to connect to Oracle Server, it hangs right after i choose the oracle driver (and before the loggin). This only appears when the connection part is placed into a thread... Any clues ?
