TOAD free gives OCi dll error in Sql*Net 9i

Gurus,

I'm using an older version of the most excellent TOAD. version v6.3.12.1 is the latest freeware version.

When I install the Oracle 9i client on XP (sic), and then install freeware TOAD,
I get errors accessing/can't find OCI dll's etc.

Workarounds/Suggestions?
1) This problem goes away if I use the latest 7.2 version of TOAD.

I'm too cheap to buy a license!
2) Use Oracle 8i client.

I'm too stubborn to use "old faithful"! 3) Wait in line for the latest shareware version

My developers too hungry to wait!

4) How about if I copy/rename some dll files?
