Looks like a badly configured Sun box, not necessarily any
relationship with Oracle.
Remember the output of many daemons by default goes to directories in
the /var filesystem, eg the output of the syslog daemon goes to
/var/adm/messages
temporary vi files go to /var/tmp
cron output goes to /var/spool
etc, etc, etc.
So the most common cause for /var to clutter up, is sorry to say so,
simply not administer any of those files.
