Maximum users per Oracle server

I am trying to figure out how many users I can fit on one Oracle server. The server will be used to host a database (our application) for various clients. The server will contain one instance and be comprised of multiple schemas (one for each client). Each schema will contain about 140 tables and on average about 100 MB of data. The server is running dual Pentium III 933 MHz Xeon processors and 2 GB of RAM (can be increased to 4 GB later) with 3 arrays of RAID-5 (I couldn't get 0+1 approved at the time), and separate drives for redo logs, archive logs, and the OS (all 10K SCSI drives). It is running Oracle 8.1.7 Standard Edition on Windows 2000 Server. I know a lot depends on the application and access patterns of the users, however, I would be very grateful just to hear some ballpark figures or experiences you have had with a similar configuration. Ideally, I would use a cluster running Oracle9i RAC, but it's a little pricey. I know it is very scalable so at some point it may be more profitable than multiple servers running Oracle SE. Please just let me know what you think.
