Not sure if it helps, but there is a bug on HPUX 11 64 bit which causes 8.1.x to suddenly hit 100% cpu. I'm suffering form a similar problem at the moment with an application which randomly goes into a 100% cpu utilisation but it is difficult to trace - you can't get in if it's looping and the only way out is to kill the unix process. Of course, when we set up a test and tried tracing it, it all worked fine. If I don't manage to track it down, I might have to raise a TAR for further assistance.

There are no alerts, no trace file, no core dumps - nothing.
