Oh, and one reason some people probably don't like the resetlogs route (and the reason I suggested the clear logfile option) is that, in an archivelog database, a resetlogs forces you to have to take a backup immediately after the resetlogs operation. For a large database, that could be a unnecessary recovery delay.
