Take a look at Oracle's Connection Manager (CMAN) option. Its included with an enterprise edition license. They include it with Standard Edition, but its not licensed with Standard Edition. funny how they do that.

Also - check the technical library on Metalink - lots of papers there for various firewall configurations. http://metalink.oracle.com
