You could do that... or just create two separate LUN's in each redundancy group and just use LVM to stripe across both LUN's. Beef up the IO queue depth via the SCSICTL command in HPUX and you should see a vast improvement in performance. Make sure you upgrade to the latest firmware for the VA7400 also.
