Not to brag or anything
I support 11 production, a couple of dev and one warehouse db. Do some development here and there, mostly on the warehouse, some in production. Developers here have learned to tune SQL or at least try to.
Really no big deal. A couple of scripts do most of the boring part of my job.
In addition I partially support System Admin on 10 front ends and most SA on the database servers plus Veritas stuff.

It's all managable w/ a proper attitude... Of course, the part that sux, is when that pager goes off during vacation :(

We use Oracle 8.1.6-8.1.7 on Solaris 2.6, 2.7 boxes
