What do you get when you try
ARCHIVE LOG LIST ? Connect to svrmgrl as internal
and issue the command
ARCHIVE LOG LIST.
This should show whether the database
is in archivelog mode and whether automatic archive is enabled.
Then issue the command
ALTER SYSTEM SWITCH LOGFILE
or
ALTER SYSTEM ARCHIVE LOG NEXT
this should generate a new log file in the archive destination.
