Have you worked on Oracle Before... Pls Read the manuals .. read the Manuals... read the mauals... (Or/And) Get aGood Book Like the 8i Complete Reference.
Controlfile is the file that is very imporatnt to a Database It is the file that identifies the other files for the database.
I dont think u have even created the database. Run the Db Configuration Assistant. That should do the trick...
