Try to ping the host.  If you are refrencing the host name in the TNS
files, you will need to be able to resolve the name.  If you cannot
ping in this manner, change the host name to the actual IP in your TNS
or modify your hosts file.



If you can successfully ping the host, you have a TNSNAMES file issue.
