Client program information

Hi,

I have implemented on an Oracle 8.1.7 database a table which logs the connections from users. As several client programs are connecting to this database, I would like to know if it is possible to determine from Oracle which is the client program?

I am sure the information is in the database, as TOAD is able to display it in the 'Trace session' window, but I didn't find it in the parameters of the SYS_CONTEXT. Thank you for your help.
