Yes I was confusing parallel servers with parallel queries. Right now we have 2 boxes, one as prod db server and the other is failover standby box. But our volume is starting to really peg CPU on prod server so we're thinking about taking standby box and making a parallel server just to give us more capacity. Overall performance doesn't have to be faster than 1 system with light load so parallel query not really necessary.
