Chris Boyle doodled thusly:

Exactly! And exactly what is wrong with the format as is. Have seen so many "rote" "OCPs" out there it's not even funny!

ORACLE are shooting themselves in the foot if they think this is the way to create a "large market" for DBAs. It's rubbish: been tried in this industry many times before, never worked. It won't work now. Eventually IT managers wise-up and realize they're being had. Then things go "clunk".

The solution is to make those certificates true tests of DB knowledge and reasoning. But that requires a somewhat more sophisticated "evaluation facility" than a template for filtering multiple choices! Or a "tick-checking" CGI program.

As such, less profit. Therefore, let's promote the darn thing as "infallible", to compensate for the OBVIOUS short-comings. Typical modern marketing crud. Anyone buying it, deserves it.

Cheers
