hello
i downloaded the 6 disk of Oracle 9iAS for linux file from oracle site to install it on a previous oracle 8.1.7 installation on a slackware 8 kernel 2.4.17 machine. So i decompress it,
modified the $ORACLE_HOME in order to have it in another directory than my previous install and launch the runInstall script being oracle.oinstall user.
then i got this message :

Initializing Java Virtual Machine from tmp/OraInstall/jre/bin/jre. Please *** wait...
SIGSEGV 11* segmentation violation

Could someone give any clues about what's going on Is it a problem with the version of some libs ?

thanx
