Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately this doesn't do the trick. When I start Universal Installer and it prompts for File Locations, I'm surprised to see that it still knows the name and location of the last installation attempt - even though I thought I'd deleted all traces of Oracle from both the filesystem and registry. I'm running UI from CD so it can't be putting the info there. There must be something else I need to remove...?

The only Oracle-related thing I still have on the system is the old datafiles, and even those have had their directories renamed.
