DB is 817 on NT 4 on both machines
client on win2k

Bug 703020, which mostly reports problems when the dblink name contains an '@' and '.' characters, is fixed in 8.1.7.2. Bug 1282056, which has to do with teh use of synonyms, is fixed in Oracle9i. Bug 1509361, which has to do with the domain name being a part of the dblink, is fixed in Oracle9i.
