TIP - If you need a useable Backup Exec backup without the Oracle Agent -- or if your Systems depart completes BE backups on a recurring basis, have them back up your RMAN dump. Sound's redundant? It's not -- particurlarly if you are not physically archiving your RMAN dumps and your System's department archives it's BU Exec jobs.

Works for us. RMAN does a nightly full BU dump to a directory over the previous backup, so there's no need for additional space on the device. Our system's department routinely backs up this dump with BackUp Exec.
