Oracle Instance Terminated

I am working on an NT 4.0 box with SP6 running 2 instances on Oracle 8i. The Oracle instances running on this box have been running without incident for 6 months. Now the instances are forcefully terminating after a minute or so. The (instance)ALRT.log file is saying that PMON is terminating the instance due to a 474 error, instance terminated by PMON pid = 64.

Nothing has been installed or changed on the box. The event viewer is only reporting when the instance is started and when it is forced to terminate. The NT operating system has plenty of memory and free disk space and is maintained regularly. There are only 2 instances running on the server are a gig a piece.

Any help sorting out this problem would be most appreciated.

Thanks. Received on Wed Jan 23 2002 - 15:42:22 CST
