move database from NT to Win2k

I'm moving an 8i database from an NT server to a Win2K server, and I've noticed that the "oradim" program used to create instances in Win2k does always work properly, but the db service does get created properly when using the create database tool during the installation process.

So my question is, will there be any problems if I go through and create this dummy database during install with the instance name matching the current db, then just overwrite the datafiles, control files, redos, etc etc with the old database.

Thanks.
