Hi Stephan,
you simply re-download when the current copy expires - that's how 'toadman' makes sure you have the bug fixes. Support is also provided for the frre version on the tand group at yahoogroups.com.
I used free TOAD for some time until I persuaded our penny pinchers to get me a proper copy.
