Oracle Advanced Security

Can anybody give me some advice about setting up Oracle Advanced Security with SSL. The config is okay, but who do you get to sign your certificate request? What is the difference between the client and server ones? Will a web server certificate do the same for the server and an email one for the client. How much does it cost? Can you get trial signing to test the concept etc.
