Help on building Oracle standby server

Hi,

I am building a Oracle standby database on two SUN HA servers (Veritas on SUN Solaris 2.6), i,e one server run as active server, another in standby mode, and the Standby server will receive Archive log from the Active server so both Oracle database can be in sync.

but when I add this line into the ora.init file, Log_archive_dest=/oradata/xxx/standby_archive

I have got the error message suggest that the Log_archive_dest parameter is unknown to Oracle, as below:
LRM-00101: unknown parameter name 'Standby_archive_dest'

The Oracle version is 8.0.5.

Any help/suggestion will be appreciated.
