Database upgrade Oracle 8.1.6 to 8.1.7 on HP-UX 11.00

Hello,

I'm just a newbie on Oracle 8i administration, but have here a serious problem with upgrading from 8.1.6.1 to 8.1.7.1.

We have an HP-UX L3000 server with 8GB RAM, 3x550 PA8600 CPU's, and FC VA7400 AutoRaid-System.

The upgrade script u0801060.sql is now running for more than 80 hrs. Average CPU utilization is about 50% on one processor. HDD utilization is about 50% and we still have wio of about 20%!!!

The latest patch bunles from HP are September 2001. Database size is about 6GB.

Any ideas how to track down the wio? Anyone had the same problem? Do I something wrong?
