Is it also necessary just for the installation? Another guy told me, that I shouldn't care about those parameters. And I don't think they have anything to do with me not being able to install? The installation doc says that I need to change those parameters and for them to take effect, I need to reboot.. but after reboot the changes are gone again. How do I make the changes stay? And three of the parameters that the installation doc says that I should change are not even to be found in my /proc/sys/kernel

Ok. So the blackdown JRE is not needed for the installation either?

I have tried to my best effort to follow the guidelines. I don't find them very descriptive.

Yes, but having followed exactly the steps I thought were necessary for the installation, I still failed.

[My environments]

> > setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH ${LD_LIBRARY_PATH}:$ORACLE_HOME/lib

[My error]

It still does not work. I get the exact same error. Couldn't find -lclntsh :-(

Any help to be found?
