I have been give the task of implementing an Oracle environment at my office. Initially, Oracle 9i and iAS9 were going to each have their own machines running Windows 2000 Server as the operating system.

I have since read that the Apache web server included with iAS9 should not be used in a production environment on a Win2k machine, that iAS9 should be installed as a plug-in to Internet Information Server, for stability sake. My whole purpose of using Oracle iAS9 was to avoid the constant security problems with IIS.

If this is true, and the Apache server is "flakey" on Windows, I will use Suse Linux 7.3 as the underlying operating system.

My question is, does anyone have any experience with the Apache web server and iAS9 and Windows, and is it unstable? Basically, is there any validity to this?

Thanks in advance.
