If you are in for a career change, why don't you just try it? either use
execute immediate 'shutdown abort' in 8i or use dbms_sql to do the same.
Remember you must have SYSDBA privilege! Could you please explain why you want to do this, any serious DBA will gladly *lynch* you for this!
