You won't find it as it is not there.
You would better read the system dependent documentation, and you would learn in it is $ORACLE_HOME/dbs for Unix and on %ORACLE_HOME%\DATABASE for NT
The file is also accessible via registry vars in HKLM\software\oracle and (optional) env vars on Unix.
