Hi Adrian,

thx for answer, but it doesn't work, we use 8.1.7.1.1 on w2k-server, when I try to set log_archive_dest_3... another ora-error occurs (sorry in german):

SQL> alter system set log_archive_dest_3="T:\" ; alter system set log_archive_dest_3="T:\" *
FEHLER in Zeile 1:
ORA-02097: Parameter kann nicht verġndert werden, da angegebener Wert ung³ltig ist
ORA-16024: Parameter LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_3 kann nicht analysiert werden

it seems that we can only use the standbyservice on a remote computer with a standbydatabase, it is Ok.
