I have a laptop running Linux and Oracle database for learning purposes. Because sqlplus is a command line interface to the database and Linux lacks a gui one, I am interested in using Toad on an NT box as a client.

My question is how do I physically connect directly the NT box (client) to the Linux laptop and have a working client/server environment.

Also I am a Linux newbie. I would like some instructions to set up Linux so that I can use Toad and connect to the Oracle database.
