Do you run Uniface by any chance ?
This 'opens' a table by parsing, but not executing, a 'select * from table_name;' statement when a client connects with the application.

PS. I think Uniface 7205 *does* actually execute the statement but it shouldn't :o(

In v$sqlarea, there is some sql orders with : - executions = 0
- parse_calls > 0

Can someone explain why parsing without executing ?
