Hi Guys

I have finally managed to get 8.1.7 to install successfully on SUSE 7.3 attached is the steps required.

  1. Download i386-glibc-2.1-linux.tar.gz and readme.Oracle8i from

http://www.kernel.org/pub/software/libs/glibc/hjl/sdk/2.1/

2. Follow instruction in readme.Oracle8i found at same location ie. http://www.kernel.org/pub/software/libs/glibc/hjl/sdk/2.1/

Info

I took default install which attempts and fails to create database as part of install allow it to fail and apply the stubs patch from oracle and if required re-run database creation script.
