The statistic REDO BUFFER ALLOCATION RETRIES reflects the number of times a user process waits for space in the redo log buffer.

The statistic REDO LOG SPACE REQUESTS reflects the number of times the active log file is full and Oracle must wait for disk space to be allocated for the redo log entries.
