Hi -

It seems some users of our database are receiving an "ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist" error when attempting to log into our database (DB Server = SUN, Client = Win2K).

What's strange is the same users do not seem to be receiving it. For example, last week I received the error but today I have no problem connecting. However, a user who connected fine last Friday is now having troubles connecting.

Also, in both cases I noticed that if I shut down the listener and restart it the affected users are able to connect once and then all subsequent connections they get this error.

Any Ideas?
