The most important point is to make sure that the Oracle listener ports do not conflict with the ports that Sybase is listening on.

Generally, you should configure Sybase at 1433, for maximum MS SQL Server compatibility.

The Sybase listener configuration is in $SYBASE/interfaces. The Oracle listener configuration is in

	$ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/listener.ora 
		(also see tnsnames.ora, sqlnet.ora)

Sybase 11.0.3.3 didn't have anything like ONAMES, afaik.
