Definitely you.
I don't think *hiding* the part where *you* think there are no problems, is
a very good idea. There maybe side-effects like an assignment to the
variable you are using. Anyway, you are asking the groups judgment and
assistance, so I think you need to provide the *complete* function. You
would have need to do that when submitting a TAR, so I don't think there are
reasons to withheld the function from the group.
