Single instance multiple database?

If you have more than one schema in the database, I would take regular exports of each. This way, you can recover one and leave the other unaffected.
If you keep the schemas in a separate set of tablespaces and carry out hot backups, then you can recover one or more tablespaces back to a specific point in time.
