Top guys use Sun Solaris + Oracle or HP Unix + Oracle . This platform is certainly not recommended to "learn" Oracle !!!.

I am not sure about Linux. From what i know Oracle does not support all linux versions. Better avoided , unless you are a penguin lover.

I am not sure whether you want to learn Oracle or learn SQL. To learn Sql On Oracle, Windows is the best. Most people , usually students, start with Oracle on Windows.
