Thanks for the suggestion. It's been a whole night since I added the data file, but things remain the same. I have manually coalesced all the tablespaces, too, but that doesn't help, since select count(*) from dba_free_space never shows any difference.

Any other suggestions? I am willing to follow any at this point;)
