DBSNMP.EXE issue on NT4

Running 7.3.3 on NT4 (soon to be 8.1.7 on 2000 hopefully), just checked the server and it was pinned at 99% CPU, with dbsnmp.exe the culprit.

A quick search showed that this was not uncommon, but the solution was to disable it.

Since I am using 8.1.6 agent on this node to run scheduled jobs on OEM 2.2.0.0 to check extents, dbrun, etc.. I don't want to disable the agent. So I stopped it in services, CPU went down to 2%, started it back up again and CPU is remaining at 2-15% and all looks ok.

Is there a known bug here where the agent might go amock after running a job, or something of the sort? I have OEM run a shrink rollbacks & coalesce tablespace script on a daily basis, checks for dbrun every minute, checks tablespaces every 1.5 hours and checks extents hourly.

thanks in advance Received on Fri Oct 19 2001 - 14:00:27 CDT
