hi all,

it's TNS_ADMIN. On NT/2000 you have to ake a new entry inside the registry.

If you habe only 8.0.x on your client, put it under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHIENE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE.

If you habe 8.1.x on your client, put it under each HKEY_LOCAL_MACHIENE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\HOMEn. (?)

Let the entries point to the directory, where SQLNET.ORA and TNSNAMES.ORA reside.

That way, you can use multiple ORA_HOMEs while maintaining only one TNSNAMES.ORA. greeting
