What are the other DBMSs apart from Oracle which have the same keywords problem/restriction ?

Yep, I agree with your thoughts about naming conventions. In another project I have used exactly this way of naming tables, and that schema ported to Oracle w/o any problems ... I hope that someone reading this thread will use this hint in their own work ...

I tend to agree that we should not use any of the extreme points you mentioned (maximal using of particular features or choosing the minimal subset), but stick to some middle point of the range. At the same time, we should know more about these extreme points in order to more explicitly select the middle point. The end concerned with full usage of the features is obvious. The other end - using the minimal subset is unclear: What is the minimal subset ? SQL-92, 1999 ? Or what ? Do you have any ideas on that subject ?
