Oracle 8 rowids are 10 bytes.
Oracle 7 rowids are 6 bytes.

See concepts manual, V1, page 10.17-10.18 Summary of Oracle Datatype information.

Regards,
Norman.

How many bytes make up the rowid?
I need to know the row id to estimate the size of the index. It has changed since 8.0. Does anybody know what it is? Thanks for any help.
