Design Q:Multiple Tablespaces vs Multiple Schemas in One TBLSPC?

I have 3 access databases that I will import into Oracle so I am in the design phase.
It seemed to me that creating separate tablespaces for each of the three MSAccess
DB's might be a good idea since they are fairly functionally independent.

So I imagined T1,T2,T3 each with a separate DBA user to create the tables in the tablespaces.

Then I started thinking about future integration of the three groups of tables and I
wondered how complicated it would be for users who are primarily using tables in T1
by user U1 to use a table in T2? Is it as simple as U2.table_from_T2 or creating some synonyms?
I have not been able to find any good Oracle documentation on this subject.

Or am I wrong and should just create one tablespace and several schemas.

It just seemed nice and safe to have the separate files.

Any advice or a good book on the subject would be apprediated. Rob Received on Fri Sep 28 2001 - 14:43:36 CDT
